data logging and fault management.
TheiCCS consists of:
• Boiler combustion manager
• System manager
• VariCAN adapter
• Extension module
• System accessories
1.1 Combustion Manager
The Combustion manager is mounted in the boiler and controls
theinternalsafetyfunctionsassociatedwithaheatengine.Italso
providesinformationtotheSystemmangeronthestatusoftheheat
engineaswellasauxiliaryinputsandoutputs.
1.2 System Manager
TheSystemmanagerislocatedwithintheboilerandprovidesthe
controllingfunctions.OneSystemmanagerisrequiredperboiler,it
cansupportmultipleCombustionmanagers.TheSystemmanager
alsoprovidestheUserinterfacefunction.
ASystemmanager canbeconguredasa MasterorSlavein a
cascadeofBoilers,and/orwhenanyexternalmoduleisused.E.g.
Extension module.
The Master System manager controls both its own Combustion
manager and all other Slave System managers as well as the
externalmodules.ItcanalsocontrolotherCombustionmanagers
withinthesameboiler.
1.3 VariCAN Adapter
TheVariCANadapterisanoptionalaccessorythatisinstalledwithin
theboiler.ItallowstheBuscommunicationsystemtobeextended

boilerrequiresone,ortotheExtensionmodules.
1.4 Extension Module

1.5 VariCAN Bus
TheiCCScommunicatesusingtheVariCANbus.Atotalof60devices
canbemanagedonasinglebus,madeupfromamixofCombustion

iscountedasonedeviceontheVariCANbus.
Itis possible to cascadeupto16boilers on the VariCAN bus, 1
MasterSystemmanagerand19SlaveSystemmanagers.
Thesystemcansupportupto8Extensionmodules.
However,thetotalnumberofdevicesstillcannotexceed60.
