Belt Splicing System v.2.0
Symptom & Possible Causes Action to Take
Splice has little/no melting (e.g., no weld bead) continued from previous page
Facility too cold
High airflow in area
1. Increase facility temperature in splicing area if possible (above 40ºF/4ºC preferred).
2. Reduce air flow mechanically if possible.
3. Shield splicing area from air flow with cardboard or similar.
4. Hold the Heat Wand in a controlled location outside of the Stand until it stabilizes at set point
before splicing.
5. Contact Intralox Technical Support for suggestions.
Ends moved/not secure Clean debris from belt surfaces.
Clear debris from grooves in Deck and Cut Guide.
Check drive bar engagement before securing belt ends.
Fully secure belt in Clamping Fixture.

Splice has faulty drive bar pitch
Cut the faulty splice from the belt and repeat the splicing procedures with careful attention to the following items.
Wrong Cut Guide used Repeat belt end preparation using the blue S8026 Cut Guide for 26 mm pitch belt or red S8050
Cut Guide for 50 mm pitch belt.
Cut alignment technique
Splice alignment technique
Clean debris from belt ends.
Clear debris from grooves in Deck and Cut Guide.
Check drive bar engagement before securing belt ends.

Ensure proper procedure is being used for the series, style, and type belt being aligned.
