Esters are being used as alternatives and extenders for
mineral oil.
Fatty Acid Methyl Esters must conform to certain
standards to be of acceptable quality, just as mineral oils
do at present.
Consult your JCB distributor for advice about the use of
Fatty Acid Methyl Ester fuels, as improper application may
impair engine performance.
!MWARNING
Diesel Fuel
Diesel fuel is flammable; keep naked flames away from
the fuel system. Do not smoke while refuelling or
working on the fuel system. Do not refuel with the
engine running. There could be a fire and injury if you
do not follow these precautions.

!MWARNING
Petrol
Do not use petrol in this machine. Do not mix petrol
with the diesel fuel; in storage tanks the petrol will rise
to the top and form flammable vapours.

Filling the Tank
The fuel tank capacity is 20 litres (4.4 gal). To check the
amount of fuel in the tank, turn the starter switch to “ON”
and observe the fuel gauge. It is desirable not to allow the
fuel level to fall below 1/4 full.
Important:
1 Ensure that the starter switch is set to OFF before
filling the tank.
2 Be careful not to let the fuel tank become empty,
otherwise air will enter the fuel system.
3 At the end of every working day, fill the tank with the
correct type of fuel to help prevent overnight
condensation from forming in the fuel.
4 Do not allow dirt or debris to enter the fuel system.
5 Wipe clean any spillages.
