Draining the Fuel Filter
1 Park the machine on firm, level ground and stop the
engine. If the vehicle has a manually operated load
bay, remove the starter key.
2 Raise the load bay. If your vehicle has an electric
tipper, ensure that the starter key is removed.
3 Drain off any water in the bowl 15-B by opening tap
15-A. Re-tighten tap 15-A. (Note that the fuel pipes
may not be exactly as shown on the illustration.)
4 If there is sediment in the bowl 15-B change the
element 15-F, K

1 Park the machine on firm, level ground and stop the
engine. If the vehicle has a manually operated load
bay, remove the starter key.
2 Raise the load bay. If your vehicle has an electric
tipper, ensure that the starter key is removed.
3 Place a receptacle under the filter to catch any fuel.
Slacken tap 15-A.
4 Support the bowl 15-B and unscrew bolt 15-C.
Remove the bolt 15-C, remove and discard
washer15-D and 'O' ring 15-E.
5 Remove filter element 15-F, bowl 15-B and base 15-
G as a unit.
6 Discard 'O' ring 15-H.
7 Separate element 15-F, bowl 15-B and base 15-G.
Remove and discard seals 15-J (3 off), discard 'O'
ring 15-L.
8 Lubricate all seals and 'O' rings with clean fuel oil.
9 Fit new seals 15-J (3 off) to base 15-G, bowl 15-B and
element 15-F, fit 'O' ring 15-H to the centre of the
element 15-F.
10 Fit element 15-F, bowl 15-B, base 15-G, to the head
15-K.
11 Insert centre bolt 15-Cafter fitting new washer 15-D
and 'O' ring 15-E. Tighten the bolt 15-C carefully by
hand to ensure that all seals are correctly seated. Fit
new 'O' ring 15-L to tap 15-A and insert tap into base
15-G.
12 Tighten bolt 15-C to 8-11 Nm (6-8 lbf ft, 0.8-1.1 kgf m).
13 Prime the Filter.
Slacken bleed screw 15-M and operate the priming
pump 15-N by squeezing the body until fuel spurts
from the loosened screw with no entrapped air.
14 Tighten the bleed screw and check the filter for leaks.
Tighten connections or change seals as required.
