Section 5: Relative, Math, Ratio, and Delta Model 6482 Dual-Channel Picoammeter / Voltage Source Reference Manual
Remote math functions
Table 5-4 summarizes commands to control the measurement math functions through a remote
interface. See the :CALC1 and :CALC2 subsystems in Section 16 for detailed information.
Math function programming example
Table 5-5 summarizes commands that program the following math function parameters:
Channel 2 math function: MX + B
Channel 2 MX + B slope (M): 10
Channel 2 MX + B offset (B): 5
RATIO and DELTA
This topic discusses the ratio and delta functions, which can be used to calculate the ratio or
difference between channel 1 and channel 2 measurement function results.

Request channel 1 math reading.
Set Channel 1 math function. Name = MXB[1]
(MX + B), COND[1] (I1/V1), POWER[1].
(I1 * V1), or RES[1] (V1/I1).
Channel 1 MX + B offset (n = B).
Channel 1 MX + B slope (n = M).
Channel 1 MX + B units. String = Units.
Enable or disable channel 1 math. State = ON or OFF.
Request channel 2 math reading.
Set Channel 2 math function. Name = MXB2
(MX + B), COND2 (I2/V2), or POWER2
(I2 * V2), RES2 (V2/I2).
Channel 2 MX + B offset (n = B).
Channel 2 MX + B slope (n = M).
Channel 2 MX + B units. String = units.
Enable or disable channel 2 math. State = ON or OFF.
Define CALC data elements. Name = CALCulate, TIME, or
STATus.
Trigger CALC readings (must use before sending
CALCn:DATA?).
