5 After pressing SHIFT or when the self-test starts, the meter performs a
self-test to check if the battery in the meter is the rechargeable type. The
self-test takes about 2 to 3 minutes. Avoid pressing any button during the
self-test. A message is diplayed as shown in Figure 5-3.
