Note:Beforeinstallingthisoperatingsystem,connectyourservertothenetwork.
ToinstalltheMicrosoftWindowsSmallBusinessServer2011Essentialsoperatingsystem,dothefollowing:
1.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetasthefirststartup
device.ConnecttheUSBstoragedevicethatcontainsthedrivertoyourserver.Then,starttheserver
fromtheopticaldrive.
Note:IfthemessagePressanykeytobootfromcdisdisplayed,pressanykey.IfthemessageWindows
Setup[EMSEnabled]isdisplayed,pressEnter.
2.IntheInstallingWindowswindow,selectNewInstallation.
3.ClickLoaddriversandgotothefolderwherethedriverisstored.ClickOKtoloadthedrivers.
4.SelectIunderstandthatifIclickInstall,allfilesandfoldersonyourprimaryharddrivewillbe
deleted.Then,clickInstall.TheInstallWindowswindowisdisplayed.Waitforamoment.
Note:IftheserverisabletoidentifytheEthernetcarddriver,gotostep11afterstep4.
5.WhenthemessageErrorsoccurredduringinstallationisdisplayed,pressShift+F10.Inputthecommand
devmgmt.msc,andpressEnter.
6.IntheDeviceManagerwindow,clickotherdevices,andthenright-clickEthernetController.
7.ClickUpdateDriverSoftware➙Browsemycomputerfordriversoftware.
8.Gotothefolderwherethedriverisstored,andthenclickNext.
9.Inthe“UpdateDriverSoftware-Intel...Connection”window,clickClose.Gobacktothecommand
windowandcloseit.
10.Gobacktothe“Errorsoccurredduringinstallation”window,andclickRestarttorestartyourserver.
11.Whenthe“WindowsSmallBusinessServer2011”windowisdisplayed,configurethelanguageand
otherrequiredoptions,andthenclickNext.
12.Inthe“Verifythedateandtimesettings”window,configurethedateandtime.Then,clickNext.
13.ReadthelicensetermsandselectIacceptthelicense.Then,clickNext.
14.TypeyourproductkeyandthenclickNext.
15.Personalizetheserverbytypingtheusername,andthenclickNext.
16.Inthe“Provideyouradministratorinformation(account1of2)”window,typeyourusernameand
password.Then,clickNext.
Note:Thepasswordmustcontainatleasteightcharactersandconsistofuppercaseletters,lower
caseletters,andnumbers.
17.Inthe“Provideyouradministratorinformation(account2of2)”window,typeyourusernameand
password,andthenclickNext.
Note:Thepasswordmustcontainatleasteightcharactersandconsistofuppercaseletters,lower
caseletters,andnumbers.
18.Inthe“Keepyourserverup-to-dateautomatically”window,configurethesettings.Y ourserverwill
restartseveraltimes.
19.Whenprompted,clickClose.Theinstallationiscompleted.
