Lenovo ThinkServer TD340 - Installing the Driver for the Chipset; Installing the Driver for an Onboard Graphics Card

ToinstalltheMicrosoftWindowsStorageServer2012standardoperatingsystem,dothefollowing:
1.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetasthefirststartup
device.Then,starttheserverfromtheopticaldrive.
2.WhenthemessagePressanykeytobootfromCDisdisplayed,pressanykey.IfthemessageWindows
Setup[EMSEnabled]isdisplayed,pressEnter.Waitseveralminutesforthesystemtoloadthefiles.
3.WhentheWindowsServer2012windowisdisplayed,configurethelanguageandotherrequired
options,andthenclickNext.
4.ClickInstallnow.
5.SelecttheWindowsoperatingsystemeditionthatyouwanttoinstall.Then,clickNext.Thefollowing
stepsarebasedonthescenariothatWindowsStorageServer2012Standard(Evaluation)isselected
inthisstep.
6.ReadthelicensetermsandselectIacceptthelicenseterms.ClickNext.
7.Selectthetypeofinstallationyouneed.ThefollowingstepsarebasedonthescenariothatCustom:
InstallWindowsonly(Advanced)isselectedinthisstep.
8.Inthe“WheredoyouwanttoinstallWindows?”window,connecttheUSBstoragedevicethatcontains
thedrivertoyourserverandclickLoadDriver.
9.GotothefolderthatcontainstherequireddriverandclickOK.
10.SelectthedriverthatyouwanttoinstallandclickNexttoinstallthedriver.
11.Inthe“WheredoyouwanttoinstallWindows?”window,clickDriveoptions(advanced).
12.Selecttheharddiskdriveonwhichyouwanttoinstalltheoperatingsystem,andthenclickNew.
13.Typetheamountofspace(inMB),andthenclickApply.
14.IntheWindowsSetupwindow,clickOK.
15.Ensurethatthedrivepartitioniscorrect,andthenclickNext.Theinstallationbegins.
Note:Y ourserverwillrestartseveraltimesduringtheinstallation.
16.WhentheSettingswindowisdisplayed,setanadministratorpasswordandclickFinish.When
prompted,followtheinstructionsonthescreentologintotheoperatingsystem.
Installingthedriverforthechipset
Toinstallthedriverforthechipset,dothefollowing:
1.DownloadthedriverfromtheLenovoSupportWebsite.Themostup-to-datedevicedriversforvarious
servermodelsarealwaysavailableontheLenovoSupportWebsiteat:
http://www.lenovo.com/drivers
2.Double-clicktheEXEfiletounzipittoafolder.CopythefoldertoaUSBstoragedeviceandconnect
theUSBstoragedevicetoyourserver.
3.LogintotheoperatingsystemandcopythefolderfromtheUSBstoragedevicetoyourserver.
4.Double-clickthedriver,andthenclickNext.
5.Inthe“WelcometotheSetupProgram”window,clickNext.
6.IntheLicenseAgreementwindow,clickYes.
7.IntheReadmeFileInformationwindow,clickNext.Theinstallationbegins.
8.IntheSetupProgresswindow,clickNext.
9.SelectYes,Iwanttorestartthiscomputernow.Then,clickFinishtorestartyourserver.
