Note:BeforeinstallingthedriverforanEthernetcard,ensurethatthekernel-sourcepackageandthe
correspondingcompilerareinstalledonyourserver.
ToinstallthedriverforanEthernetcard,dothefollowing:
1.CopythedriverfortheEthernetcardfromtheThinkServerEasyStartupDVDtoyourlocaldrive.
Double-clicktheEXEfiletounzipittoafolder.CopythefoldertoaUSBstoragedeviceandconnect
theUSBstoragedevicetoyourserver.
2.LogintotheoperatingsystemandcopythefolderfromtheUSBstoragedevicetothe/tmpdirectory
onyourserver.
3.Usethefollowingcommandstoinstallthedriver:
cd/tmp
cde1000e
./install
Note:Inthecommandlines,e1000erepresentsthedrivername.Usethecorrespondingfilename
onyourserver.
4.Restartyourserver.
5.ConfiguretheIPaddressoftheEthernetcardbydoingthefollowing:
a.ClickSystemonthetop-leftcornerofthewindow,andthenselectNetworkConnectionsfrom
thePreferencesdrop-downlistbox.
b.Inthenetworkconfigurationwindow,selecttheEthernetcardandclickEdit.
c.ClickIpv4Settings.Then,selectManualfromtheMethoddrop-downlistboxandclickAdd.
d.ConfiguretheIPaddressoftheEthernetcard,andthenclickApplytorestartyourserver.
e.ConfigureotherEthernetcardsifneeded.
