InstallingthedriverforanEthernetcard
Note:BeforeinstallingthedriverforanEthernetcard,ensurethatthekernel-sourcepackageandthe
correspondingcompilerareinstalledonyourserver.
ToinstallthedriverforanEthernetcard,dothefollowing:
1.CopytheEthernetcarddriverfromtheThinkServerEasyStartupDVDtoyourlocaldrive.Double-click
theEXEfiletounzipittoafolder.CopythefoldertoaUSBstoragedeviceandconnecttheUSB
storagedevicetoyourserver.
2.LogintotheoperatingsystemandcopythefolderfromtheUSBstoragedevicetothe/tmpdirectory
onyourserver.
3.Usethefollowingcommandstoinstallthedriver:
cd/tmp
cde1000e
./install
Note:Inthecommandlines,e1000erepresentsthenameofthedriverfile.Usethecorrespondingfile
nameonyourserver.
4.RestartyourserverandclickComputeronthebottom-leftcorner.
5.ClickYaST.
6.IntheYaSTControlCenterwindow,clickNetworkDevices.Then,double-clickNetworkCard.
7.IntheNetworkSetupMethodwindow,selectUserControlledwithNetworkManagerandclickNext.
8.SelectantheEthernetcardyouneedandclickEdit.
9.IntheNetworkAddressSetupwindow,selectStaticAddressSetupandconfigurethesettings.Then,
clickNext.
10.ConfigureotherEthernetcardsifneeded.ClickFinishtocompletetheEthernetcardconfiguration.
Installingthedriverforanonboardgraphicscard
Toinstallthedriverforanonboardgraphicscard,dothefollowing:
1.CopytheonboardgraphicscarddriverfromtheThinkServerEasyStartupDVDtoyourlocaldrive.
Double-clicktheEXEfiletounzipittoafolder.CopythefoldertoaUSBstoragedeviceandconnect
theUSBstoragedevicetoyourserver.
2.LogintotheoperatingsystemandcopythefolderfromtheUSBstoragedevicetothe/tmpdirectory
onyourserver.
3.Usethefollowingcommandstoinstallthedriver:
cd/tmp
rpm–ivhxorg69-0.96-0.i386.rpm--force
Note:Inthecommandlines,xorg69-0.96-0.i386.rpmrepresentsthenameofthefolderwherethedriver
isstored.Usethecorrespondingfilenameonyourserver.
4.Restartyourserver.
Installingthedriverforadiscretegraphicscard
Toinstallthedriverforadiscretegraphicscard,dothefollowing:
1.DownloadthedriverforthediscretegraphicscardfromtheLenovoSupportWebsite.Then,copythe
drivertoaUSBstoragedeviceandconnecttheUSBstoragedevicetoyourserver.
