Beforeyoubegin,printalltherelatedinstructionsorensurethatyoucanviewthePDFversiononanother
computerforreference.

ToinstalltheIntelligentDiagnosticsModule,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage87.
3.Removethefrontbezel.See“Removingandreinstallingthefrontbezel”onpage89.
4.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainstheIntelligentDiagnosticsModuletoanyunpainted
surfaceontheoutsideoftheserver.Then,taketheIntelligentDiagnosticsModuleoutofthepackage.
5.ConnectthesignalcabletotherearoftheIntelligentDiagnosticsModule.
6.RoutethesignalcableoftheIntelligentDiagnosticsModulethroughthecorrespondingholeinthe
chassisandpositiontheIntelligentDiagnosticsModuleonthechassissothatthescrewholeinthe
IntelligentDiagnosticsModuleisalignedwiththecorrespondingscrewhole
1inthechassis.Then,
installthescrewtosecuretheIntelligentDiagnosticsModuleinplace.
