Toreplacethepowerdistributionboardandcageassembly,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removethehot-swapredundantpowersupplies.See“Replacingahot-swapredundantpower
supply”onpage148.
Note:Ifyourservercomeswithonehot-swapredundantpowersupplyinstalledintheredundantpower
supplybay1(thebaynumberismarkedontherearofthechassis),thereisashiedinstalledonbay2to
protecttheemptybay.Removetheshieldandsaveitforfutureuse.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage87.
4.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
5.Removethefrontsystemfan(s).See“Replacingthefrontsystemfan”onpage157.
6.Notedownthecableroutingandconnection.Then,disconnectthepowercablesofthepower
distributionboardandcageassemblyfromthesystemboardandalldrives.Forservermodelswith
hot-swapharddiskdrives,youalsoneedtodisconnectthepowercable(s)fromthehot-swaphard
diskdrivebackplane(s).
7.Releasethepowercablesofthepowerdistributionboardandcageassemblyfromthecableclips
andtiesinthechassis.
