Functions
Leuze electronic GmbH + Co. KG BPS 307i 26
Parameter Description Range/Values
Speed resolution The parameter defines the resolu-
tion of the speed value. It affects
only the fieldbus output.
1mm/s
10mm/s
100mm/s
or
Free resolution
Averaging The parameter specifies the aver-
aging time of the calculated speed
values in steps.
Steps:
1 to 32ms
4.3 Time behavior
The BPS of the 300iseries operate with a scanning rate of 1000scans per second. A measurement value
is ascertained every 1ms.
The following parameters are relevant for the time behavior of the position and speed measurement:
Parameter Description Range/Values
Integration depth The integration depth affects the
measurement of position and
speed. The integration depth pa-
rameter specifies the number of
sequential measurements that the
BPS uses for position determina-
tion.
The integration results in smooth-
ing of the output measurement
value.
With the BPS300i, an integration
depth of 8 yields a response time
of 8ms.
Factory setting:
8
Update rate The update rate (50µs to 2ms) of
the measurement values at the
SSI interface can be configured
via the webConfig tool; see chap-
ter 9.3.4 "CONFIGURATION func-
tion".
Factory setting:
2ms
Error delay time Errors that occur are suppressed
for the configured time.
If no valid position or speed value
can be ascertained in the config-
ured error delay time, the last
valid value is always output.
If the error persists after the error
delay time elapses, the value of
the Position/Speed value in case
of error parameter is then output
(standard).
Factory setting:
50ms
4.4 WebConfig tool
The webConfig configuration tool offers a graphical user interface for the display of process data, configu-
ration and diagnosis of the BPS via a PC; see chapter 9 "Starting up the device – webConfig tool".
