SPECIAL NOTES ON THE EXHAUST PIPE
1 - Exhaust pipe cutting line
The exhaust pipe is a single unit type.
When replacing one of the components, cut the ex-
haust pipe.
It is essential:
- to identify the area to be cut correctly,
- to use the cutting tool correctly (Mot. 1199-01),
- to position the after sales sleeve correctly.
2 - Illustration of the area to be cut
Two marks on the exhaust pipe define the area to be
cut (see 19A, Exhaust, Pipe assembly).
Cut zone 1
Cut zone 2
Before cutting the pipe, mark the midpoint between the
two marks.
The distance between the two marks is (X2) = 80 mm.
WARNING
- All damaged heat shields must be replaced.
- The seal between the exhaust manifold gasket
face and the catalytic converter (inclusive) must be
perfect.
- All removed seals must be replaced.
- The catalytic converter must not be subjected to
mechanical impact during removal or retting, as
this could damage it.
