10.1.5. Measurement test regular biometry probe calibration
Follow the procedure below to set the zero value, also refer to the document entitled “A-Probe
calibration” (XE_ABSPBIOPBEAM_NI_ANFR):
SETTING UP THE ZERO VALUE
1. Start the ABSOLU software using the QM.Absolu.Presentation.Main.Setup shortcut located
under: C:\Quantel\Absolu
2. Select the general setup icon (displayed on the top left of the screen) then “6-Probe
Settings” and choose your type of A probe (Biometry or ProBeam)
3. Click on test block the icon . Then, select the Zero area (probe) to enter the
recommended value: Zero:
4. Adjust the “Position of the first marker in contact” cursor to display 0.00.
5. Check that the thickness measurement on the rounded shape test block is comprised
between 10.00 et 10.11mm.
6. Click on icon to save the calibration.

WARNING
In case the measured test block thickness is incorrect: the calibration procedure has to
be re-done as explained in the user manual.

Your device is now configured and allows you to use the new biometry probe.

WARNINGS
If the biometry and ProBeam probes are in use on the ABSOLU unit, the calibration for both
probes has to be done. Also, the appropriate probe has to be selected in the biometry screen
when performing an exam in order to have the calibration corresponding to the connected probe!
NOTES
- When Axial length is activated and when the A-Std probe is used for measurements and IOL
calculation, the “Axial length” mode method should be selected.
- In Axial length, the immersion technique is only available.
- This correction is impacting the Anterior Chamber depth measurement when doing the
acquisition in CONTACT technique only! With the IMMERSION technique, this correction does
not apply. With the IMMERSION technique, the first marker is set on the corneal echo, far
from the emission spike.
