SENSOR ACCURACY
Refer to Section 7, Specifications for SpO
2
and pulse rate accuracy, unless otherwise
specified in the previous tables:
Complete accuracy specifications are located in the sensor Directions For Use (DFU) and
are specific for the type of Masimo sensor used.
CLEANING AND REUSE OF MASIMO REUSABLE SENSORS AND CABLES
Reusable sensors and patient cables can be cleaned per the following procedure:
1. Remove the sensor from the patient.
2. Disconnect the sensor from the patient cable.
3. Disconnect the patient cable from the monitor.
4. Wipe the entire sensor and/or patient cable clean with a 70% isopropyl alcohol pad.
5. Allow to air dry thoroughly before returning it to operation.
CAUTION: CAREFULLY ROUTE PATIENT CABLES TO REDUCE THE POSSIBILITY OF
PATIENT ENTANGLEMENT OR STRANGULATION.
REATTACHMENT OF SINGLE USE ADHESIVE SENSORS
Single use sensors may be reapplied to the same patient if the emitter and detector
windows are clear and the adhesive still adheres to the skin.
NOTE: If the sensor fails to track the pulse consistently, the sensors may be incorrectly
positioned. Reposition the sensor or choose a different monitoring site.
CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPROCESS, RECONDITION OR RECYCLE ANY
MASIMO SENSORS OR PATIENT CABLES AS THESE PROCESSES MAY
DAMAGE THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, POTENTIALLY LEADING TO
PATIENT HARM.
CAUTION:
TO PREVENT DAMAGE, DO NOT SOAK OR IMMERSE THE SENSOR
IN ANY LIQUID SOLUTION. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STERILIZE BY
IRRADIATION, STEAM, AUTOCLAVE OR ANY METHOD OTHER THAN
ETHYLENE OXIDE AS INDICATED.
