MACHINERY PROTECTION SYSTEM (MPS) HARDWARE
AXn (auxiliary channel) BNC connectors
Buffered outputs (“raw” analog signals)
corresponding to auxiliary channel inputs.
Transfer ratios:
For a channel configured as a tachometer
input:
0 to 5 V TTL-compatible (digital pulse train)
signal.
For a channel configured as a DC input:
1 V/V for a voltage input signal or
0.2 V/mA for a current input signal.

DIAG/STATUS LED indicator:
Off: MPC4

Green blinking: no configuration or being
configured.
Green (continuous): normal operation.
Orange blinking slowly: trip multiply (TM).
Orange blinking: alarm bypass (AB).
Orange (continuous): sensor/measurement
chain problem.
Red (continuous): fail-safe due to diagnostics
(BIST) or hardware fault/problem preventing
normal operation.
CHn (dynamic channel) LED indicators:
Off: channel not configured.
Green (continuous): normal operation.
Orange blinking slowly: alert alarm (not first-out).
Orange blinking: alert alarm (first-out).
Orange (continuous): alarm bypass (AB) or
sensor/measurement chain problem.
Red blinking slowly: danger alarm (not first-out).
Red blinking: danger alarm (first-out).
AXn (auxiliary channel) LED indicators:
Off: channel not configured.
Green (continuous): normal operation.
Orange blinking slowly: alert alarm (not first-out).
Orange blinking: alert alarm (first-out).
Orange (continuous): alarm bypass (AB) or

Used to change/control the operation and
behaviour of a VM600

In general:
Button 1 (left) is used to change the
operating mode of the MPC4

module.
Button 2 (right) is used to switch the main
Operational mode of the MPC4

between Locked (safety/secure operating
mode) and Unlocked (maintenance
operating mode).
RESET (both buttons) is used to reset the
MPC4
Mk2
+IOC4
Mk2
module, that is, reboot
the VM600
Mk2
MPS.
LAN connector
(with Link and Activity LEDs)
8P8C (RJ45) modular jack, female.
System Ethernet communications between
the MPC4
Mk2
+IOC4
Mk2
module and a
computer running the VibroSight
®
software.
