2. Remove 4 bolts securing bearing carrier to jet
drive.

Bearing Carrier Disassembly
1. Remove the large beveled snap ring (a) from the
bearing carrier.
2. Heat the bearing carrier (b) with a torch only until
you can barely touch it.
3. Hold the drive shaft vertical and bump the impel-
ler end of the drive shaft against a wooden block
causing the bearing carrier to slide down off the
bearings.
4. Press the ball bearings (c) off the drive shaft.
Leave the bearing thrust ring (e) (located in the
drive shaft groove above the upper ball bearing)
unless damaged.
5. Remove the seals and spiral retaining rings from
the bearing carrier and the upper seal housing
(d).
6. Clean all parts thoroughly and remove any burrs.
