Thetravelofbrakepedalis13~22mm.
Foraddedsafety,thehydraulicbrakingsystemoperates
throughdualcircuits.Ifonecircuitshouldfail,theother
willcontinuetofunction,butgreaterpedalpressurewill
beneeded,andincreasedbrakepedaltravel,andlonger
stoppingdistanceswillbeexperienced.
Intheeventofabrakefailurewhereonlyonecircuitis
operational,thecarshouldbebroughttoahaltassoonas
trafcconditionssafelyallow.DONOTcontinuedriving-
seekMGAuthorisedRepairer.
VacuumBoosterSystem
Avacuumboostersystemisinstalledinthebrakesystem,
pleasepayattentiontothefollowingpointswhenusing:
•Itonlyfunctionswhentheengineisworking,NEVER
coastwiththeenginestalling.
•T akeextracarewhentheenginestallsandthevehicle
istowedwithfourwheelsontheground.Ifengine
stallsduringdriving,stopthevehicleassoonaspossible
ifthetrafcregulationallows.DONOTpumpthe
brakepedaltoavoidlosingthevacuumpowerassistthat
remainsinthebrakesystem.
•Iftheenginestallsandtheremainingvacuumpower
assistinthebrakesystemrunsout,rmlydepress
thebrakepedaltostopifthetrafcregulationallows.
ContacttheMGAuthorisedRepairerassoonas
possible.
•Whenthevacuumboosterbrakeisinsufcientdueto
enginestallorotherreasons(suchasthechangeofthe
atmosphericpressure),youshoulddepressthepedal
withmoreforcethanusualtostopthevehicle,andget
theeffectivebrake.
MoistureCondition
Drivingthroughwaterorinheavyrainwillreducethe
vehiclebrakeefciency.Atthistime,makesuretokeep
asafedistancewithothervehiclesanddepressthebrake
pedalintermittentlytokeepthesurfaceofthebrakedisc
dry.
