(TPMS)
TPMSsystemcannotreplacethepersonal
checkontyreconditionandpressure.
Note:TPMSonlygivesthedriverawarningwhenthe
tyrepressureislow,itwillnotinatethetyre.
SystemOperation
ThissystemiscontrolledbytheABS,which
constantlymonitorsthespeedofeverywheel.Inthe
normaldrivingcondition,withthebrakepedalnot
depressed,iftheABSsystemdetectsthatthespeedofone
ormultiplewheelsisdifferentfromthatofotherwheels,
thesystemwillcalculatethechangeintyrepressurebased
ontherotationspeedvariationandactivatethealarm
functionwhenthetyrepressurechangesbeyondthe
presetpressurerange.Atthemoment,theTPMSwarning
lampontheinstrumentpackilluminatesyellow,andkeeps
ashing.
Checkthetyrepressureandre-inatethetyretocorrect
pressureassoonaspossible.Refertothe"T yrePressure
(Cold)"inthe"T echnicalData"section.
SystemMalfunction
Thissystemisself-monitoring,ifamalfunctionisdetected,
theTPMSwarninglightontheinstrumentpanelwill
illuminateyellow.
Note:Incaseofamalfunction,theTPMSrequiresa
certainperiodforvericationbeforegivinganalarm.
Inthefollowingconditions,theTPMSwillnotgiveanalarm
evenifthechangesintyrepressureexist:
Thepressurechangesoftwoormultipletyresare
thesame,thatis,theTPMScanonlymonitorthe
pressuredeviationofonetyre(decreaseorincrease),
itisimpossibletomonitorthepressuredeviationof2
tyresatthesamesideoronthesameaxle,aswellas
thatof4tyres.
Thepressurechangeof4tyresarethesame;
Intheeventofatyreblown-out,theTPMSwillnot
respondimmediately.
