circumstances;doingsomayinterruptthe
operationofABSandincreasethebraking
distance.
Ifsuddenbrakingisnecessary,thedrivershouldrmly
depressthebrakepedal,evenonslipperyroad.ABScan
ensurethatthewheelsdonotlock,andinmanycases,the
vehiclewillstopinpossiblyshortestdistance.
Note:Onsoftsurfacessuchaspowderysnow,sandor
gravel,thebrakingdistancerequiredbytheanti-lock
brakingsystemmaybegreaterthanfornon-ABS
braking,eventhoughimprovedsteeringwouldbe
experienced.Thisisbecausethenaturalactionof
lockedwheelsonsoftsurfacesistobuildupawedge
ofsurfacematerialinfrontwhichassiststhecarto
stop.
Nomatterhowmuchyoutramplebrakepedalforce,you
cancontinuetocontrolsthevehiclewiththeusualway.
IMPORTANT
ABScannotcompensatefortheresultscausedbythe
driver'smisoperationorinexperience.
