3-7-2. Linear scale

Remove the front cover (x4 screws), Y cover C (x4 screws), and the maintenance cover (x4 screws).
(See P. 3 - 4 )

Remove the screw from the left end of
the linear scale, and remove the linear
scale from each of the springs.

Remove the head cover (x2 screws). (See P. 3 - 4 )
While performing work, take care to avoid attaching fingerprints or oil to the lin-
ear scale.
(If the linear scale becomes dirty, clean with a neutral detergent.)
Take care also to avoid bends, scratches, etc.
