TROUBLESHOOTING
1. PROBLEM: NO CHARACTERS DISPLAYED ON DISPLAY
ACTION: Open the door and locate the contrast control and ribbon cable on the Keypad/Display board. Check
the connecting ribbon cable; push or plug into the socket if necessary. Adjust the contrast using a
Phillips screw driver until the characters appeared distinct.
2. PROBLEM: DOOR RELEASE NOT WORKING
ACTION: Check the door strike fuse and the power supply transformer connections . Please refer to FIG. 12
for fuse location and FIG. 4 for wiring scheme. Check programmed keyless entry code and door-
open period.
3. PROBLEM: SYSTEM LATCHED-UP
ACTION: Reset the system by removing the power and powering it back on again (on newer boards there is
a switch to do this located just above the terminal blocks, bottom right hand corner of the 9501A and
the 9502A). This action should initialize the system to normal mode. No programmed information
will be lost since the system uses a nonvolatile memory to hold the information even at total power
failure. Please note that the system must be Earth grounded properly to avoid latched-up problem.
4. PROBLEM: RESIDENT TELEPHONE NOT RINGING
ACTION: Check programmed Resident Code and telephone number. Check system telephone line connection.
Please note: for multiple entrances application, the system must be programmed to the multiple
entrances mode. Please refer to multiple entrances section in the manual.
5. PROBLEM: THE SYSTEM IS UNABLE TO MAKE A CALL
ACTION: Check the telephone line for dial tone using a regular phone. Check for proper line connection.
Note: The unit will dial only after it detects a valid dial tone.
