Section II
Timing Out The time-out timer feature limits the amount of
time that you can continuously transmit on a
Talkgroup. If you hold down the PTT Switch longer
than the allotted time:
•A pre-alert warning tone will be generated four
seconds before termination of your transmission
to warn you that your conversation is about to be
cut off.
•Four seconds later your transmission is termi-
nated and an alert tone is emitted until the PTT
Switch is released.

Tran s m it t e r The device used to convert sound waves (voice) or
computer data to electromagnetic energy for
broadcast.
Zone A grouping of Talkgroups accessed through the
Zone Selector Switch [3-position (A,B,C) toggle]
Switch or menu for Zones A-F.
