Private Call Procedures
The Private Call feature allows you to:
carry on a conversation that is heard by only the two parties involved.
determine whether the radio that you are calling is in service.
leave your radio’s ID number with the radio you are calling so that you may
be called back.
view the calling radio’s ID number before answering.
The Private Call Feature operates across Talkgroups.
Making a Private Call
Yo u D o T h e Radio Does
1. To make a Private Call, press the
right arrow key [>] until “CALL
appears on the display.
Press the key below “CALL.”
2. There are 2 ways to enter an
ID number:
a. If you do nothing else, the last
number transmitted or received
will be sent out.
OR
b. Enter the new 6-digit ID number
from the keypad.
Note: Once you have started enter-
ing numbers, the left arrow key [<]
will function as a backspace key.

The display shows 3 choices: for
example, “CALL,” “PAGE” and
PHON.”
The display changes to show the last
ID number transmitted or received.
The display changes to show the num-
bers as they are being entered. The
cursor will flash to indicate the loca-
tion of the next digit to be entered.
