Section II
Selecting a Talkgroup [Zone]
A zone is a grouping of Talkgroups [16 to a Zone]. Zones can be selected through
the Zone Selector [3-position (A,B,C) toggle] Switch for Zones A, B, and C, or by
using the menu and keypad for Zones A through F.
To select another Talkgroup (see Appendix for Zone and Talkgroup list):

1. To select a different Talkgroup
within the current Zone, turn the
Talkgroup Selector Knob to the
number of the desired Talkgroup.
NOTE: See Section IX: Appendix
for list of Talkgroups.
You can use the Talkgroup Selector
Knob at any time to select a
different Talkgroup.
2. To select a Talkgroup within
Zones A, B, or C:
a. First, move the Zone Selector
[3-position (A,B,C) toggle] Switch
to the desired Zone.
b. Second, turn the Talkgroup selector
knob to the number of the desired
Talkgroup within the new Zone.
3. To select a Talkgroup within
Zones A through F:
a. Press the right arrow key [>] until
ZONE” appears on the display.
Press the key below “ZONE.

The display shows the selected
Talkgroup’s name.
If the selected position is not valid, the
display will show UNPROGRAMMED,
and you will hear an invalid-mode
tone until a valid programmed
Talkgroup is selected.
The new Zone letter appears on the
display.
The display shows the selected
Talkgroup’s name.
The display shows 3 choices; for
example, “ZONE,” “CHAN,” and
VIEW.”
The display changes to show the cur-
rent Zone (flashing) and selected
Talkgroup.
