Yo u D o T h e Radio Does
If fewer than 6 digits are entered and
the PTT Switch is pressed, you will
hear a bad-keypress tone and the dis-
play will show “INVALID ENTRY.” A
bad-keypress tone will also be heard if
you try to enter a seventh digit or an
ID number that is not valid for the
system.
3. Press the PTT Switch. The ID number is transmitted. If the
radio you are calling is on the air, you
will hear telephone-type ringing for 20
seconds, or until the called radio an-
swers the call.
Note: If the radio you are calling is not
in service, you will not hear the ringing
and the display will show “NO
Press the HOME key to hang-up. ACKNOWLEDGE.”
4. If the party you are calling does not
answer the call within 20 seconds,
a. Press the HOME key to hang-up.
OR
b. Press the PTT Switch to send a Page.
The display will show “NO ANSWER”;
the telephone ringing will stop and an
alert tone will sound.
The radio will return to the current
Talkgroup.
You will hear 5 beeps, indicating that
the system has received your ID num-
ber, the radio you are calling is on the
air and has received the page.
The radio will return to the current
Talkgroup.
