Emergency An incident where injury to District personnel or
destruction of District property is imminent or has
already occurred.
Emergency Alarm Sequence The sequence of events that take place once an
emergency alarm has been sent by pressing the
Emergency Button.
Emergency Button Orange button located on the top of the portable
radio. Pressing it for .75 seconds begins the
emergency alarm sequence. Pressing it again for 3
seconds cancels the emergency alarm; however, the
alarm will not shut-off in ECC until acknowledged
by Dispatcher.
Emergency Talkg roup A Talkgroup that is automatically engaged between
the sending radio and the dispatch consoles.
PTT Switch The large Push-To-Talk [PTT] Switch located on
the side of the radio. Pressing the PTT Switch
allows you to talk during a transmission or
telephone call. When the PTT Switch is released
[not being pressed], you can hear the conversa-
tions of other radio operators or the person on the
telephone interconnect.
