Setting Up MaxServer Ports for Out-of-band
Management of Console Port Devices
This section describes how to set up MaxServer ports for out-of-band
management of console port devices.
NOTE: The commands described in this section can only be
executed in Privileged mode.
Use the following procedure:
1. Enter the following commands to set up the server IP address and
primary gateway address for the MaxServer:
DEFINE/SET SERVER IP ADDRESS <
internet-address
>
DEFINE/SET SERVER IP PRIMARY GATEWAY ADDRESS <
internet-address
>
2. Enter the following commands to disable subnet mask autoconfigure and
set up the subnet mask on the MaxServer:
DEFINE/SET SERVER IP SUBNET MASK AUTOCONFIGURE DISABLED
DEFINE/SET SERVER IP SUBNET MASK <
ip-address-mask
>
3. Enter the following command to set up the destination port as remote
access:
DEFINE/SET PORT <
port-number
> ACCESS REMOTE
4. Enter the following commands to disable autobaud and reset the baud
rate at the destination port:
DEFINE/SET PORT <
port-number
> AUTOBAUD DISABLED
DEFINE/SET PORT <
port-number
> SPEED <
port-speed
