Accessing the Out-of-band Management Console
Port
There are two methods for accessing the out-of-band management console
port. This sections describes both methods.
Accessing from an Ethernet-attached Station
Use the following command to access the out-of-band management console
port from an Ethernet-attached station:
telnet 192.168.5.1:<
logical-port-number
>
NOTE: In the above command, logical-port-number is the logical
port number of the out-of-band management console port.
To determine the logical port number, multiple the physical
port number by 100 and add 2,000. For example, the logical
port number for physical port number 1 is 2100.
Accessing from a Dumb Terminal Attached to a MaxServer Serial
Port
Use the following procedure to access the out-of-band management console
port from a dumb terminal attached to a MaxServer serial port:
1. Hit the return key several times to autobaud the port and get a Xyplex
username prompt.
2. Type any key at the Username prompt.
3. Login to Priviliged Mode via the SET PRIV command.
4. Enter a password of SYSTEM.
