The sample compartment houses the plate holders, sampling needle, fluidics valve and fluidics
washing system [Figure 4.11]. It is fluidically connected to the OpenSPR unit via the injection valve.

The sample compartment has holders that fit two 96-well plates. The plate holders will sit in the
back of the instrument when it is off or in use with the sample compartment door closed as seen
in Figure 4.11. When the sample compartment door is open and the OpenSPR-XT software is
running, the sample holders will come forward to the front of the XT autosampler as seen in
Figure 4.12 for easier access.
