9.1 Maintenance information
NORD frequency inverters are maintenance-free 7.1 "General frequency inverter data"in normal
operation.
Dusty environments
If the device is operated in dusty air, the cooling surfaces must be cleaned with compressed air at
regular intervals.
Long-term storage of Size 1 devices
The device must be regularly connected to the supply network for at least 60 minutes.
If these steps are not taken, this may result in destruction of the device.
In case a device has been stored for more than one year, it must be recommissioned using a
regulating transformer according to the following scheme before the regular mains connection:
Storage period 1 year … 3 years
1. 30 min with 25% mains voltage,
2. 30 min with 50% mains voltage,
3. 30 min with 75% mains voltage,
4. 30 min with 100% mains voltage
Storage period from >3 years or if the storage period is unknown:
1. 120 min with 25% mains voltage,
2. 120 min with 50% mains voltage,
3. 120 min with 75% mains voltage,
4. 120 min with 100% mains voltage
During the regeneration process, the device must not be loaded.
After the regeneration process, the regulation described above applies again (1 time per year, at least
60 min to the mains system).
Long-term storage of Size 2 devices
The device must be connected to the 24 V DC supply at regular intervals.
If these steps are not taken, this may result in destruction of the device.
In case a device has been stored for more than one year, it must be connected for 30 minutes only via
its 24 V DC supply before the regular mains connection.
With devices of type SK 3xxP, a 24 V control voltage supply must be provided in order to make the
regeneration process possible.
