Needle Heaters
A. Needle Heater
1. The needle heater works with both the Asymtek DV and DP Series
Dispensing Valves.
2. The needle heater warms the fluid at the needle tip which eliminates the
stringing effect sometimes found with adhesives and epoxies, keeps fluid
viscosity constant, and ensures consistent fluid flow.
3. The heating element attaches directly to the dispensing needle or Luer lock
adapter and plugs into an outlet on the dispensing head.
4. Temperature is controlled through the FmNT software.
B. Theory of Operation
1. The heating element attaches to the needle or to the Luer Lock fitting and
heats the fluid at the needle tip.
2. Needle heater temperature is set with the FmNT software.
3. The Dispense Head Controller monitors the Resistive Temperature Detector
(RTD), compares it to the heat parameters setup in FmNT, and regulates the
voltage going to the heating element to maintain the set temperature
C. Needle Heater Installation
1. The Needle Heater Heating Element attaches to the Luer adapter on the
DP/DV Series valves.
2. The Needle Heating Power Connector plugs into an outlet on the
electrical/pneumatic bulkhead next to the dispensing head.
D. Needle Heater Maintenance
1. The Needle Heater requires no routine maintenance.
2. Wipe off dispensing fluid spills when necessary.
