Exercise Sheet 3-6-2
Tensioning the Positioner Cables
Use only Asymtek tensioning tool (P/N 805478) for adjusting mechanical
cable tension. Use of any other tool or a non-calibrated tool can result in
inaccurate dispensing performance or damage to the dispensing system.
Tools and Materials Needed:
Mechanical Cable Tensioning Tool
1. Perform a Service Shutdown as specified in Information Sheet 1-3-2 on page
1-11.
2. Open the dispensing system Hatch and manually move the Dispensing Head in
mid-Y and mid-X position of the dispensing area.
3. Locate the X, Y, and Y-idle Cable Tensioners (See Diagram Sheet 3-6-2 on page
3-29).
4. Place the tensioning tool into the holes on top of the leftmost (Y-axis) Cable
Tensioner and twist the tool counterclockwise for two clicks (See Diagram Sheet
3-6-2 on page 3-29).
5. Repeat Step 4 for the X-axis and then the Y-idle Cable Tensioners.
6. From the mid-Y and mid-X position, manually move the Dispensing Head as
follows for two complete cycles as follows:
to the left rear corner of the dispensing area
to the right rear corner
to the right front corner
to the left front corner
7. When the second cycle is complete, manually move the Dispensing Head to the
mid-Y and mid-X position.
8. Repeat Steps 4 through 7.
9. Perform a Post-Service Startup as specified in Information Sheet 1-3-4 on page
1-14.
