Use a Delay Timer to specify the elapsed time between alarm activation of an initiating
device and activation of all output devices mapped to that device. You can set the Delay
Timer from 0 to 60 seconds. For example, Figure 58 shows graphical representation of
a 15-second timer:

To program a Delay Timer, enter a 0-60 second value as shown in "R0-R9 (Releasing
Functions)" on page 30.

The control panel provides four types of Abort Switches (ULI, IRI, NYC, and AHJ)
that you can use, that will affect the operation of a Delay Timer mapped to the same
Releasing Zone. For example, an Abort Switch selected for Releasing Zone R05 only
affects the Delay Timer selected for R05. Other requirements for using an Abort Switch
include the following:
• Connecting an monitor module to a UL-listed abort station, such as the N-ARA-10
shown in Figure 59.
• Program the monitor module with the Type Code
ABORT
SWITCH
. (Refer to “How
to Program a Monitor Module” on page 23).
• Abort switch shall not be used with a preaction system.
