Heating boards are mounted in rack that contains up to 8 boards. Each card can control a
maximum 16 heaters. The resistances are fed by impulse trends sent to the card that is regulating
those trends in function of the temperature sensed by the thermocouple functioning in percentage.
The percentage settings are set by the operator from the touch screen.
There is an information exchange between the CPU of the heating cards and the PLC, by the serial
communication device. The PLC transmits to the cards starting input and is controlling it in
function of the parameters setting set by the operator. The heating system is checking for
connected resistances status. In case of problem the input goes to PLC and an alarm is displayed.
To replace a fuse: Check in the heating boards which channel is involved looking the led red. Turn
off equipment from main disconnect switch and open heating control box located on the side of the
heaters carriage. Look up for the heating card in error. You will find it by a red led lighted at the
bottom of the card. (See photo below). Use a small flat screwdriver to unlock the cap.
Turn on main power on the machine, reset emergency state and turn on the heaters. Wait a few
seconds and then verify if the failure reappears in heater page. If you go to diagnostic menu
manually, remember that in PLC memory you can find the last number of fuses in failure. It doesn’t
mean that the card is still in failure. Always check the diagnostic page n. 1 and push on RESET on
the page to be sure that the problem is solved.
Never use glass fuses!! In case of blowing, serious damages can happen to
internal electronic part of the card. Only use ceramic fuses supplied by the
manufacturer. Not doing so may result in electrical damage.
All operations must be made with power OFF. Wait 15 minutes before
touching electrical or electronic equipment. Not doing so could result
in death or serious injury.
