Use standard safet y equipment such as safet y glasses, ear prot ection, steel-toed
safet y boot s, safet y hard hats, et c. as prescribed by t he Occupational Safety and
Healt h Association (or ot her local codes) when working on this equipment .
Use standard safet y practices when working wit h electrical equipment (e.g., remove
all jewelry, use insulated tools, wear cotton clothing, etc.)
Never work alone when inst alling or servicing this equipment . Have someone
nearby that can come to your aid if necessary.

Phot ovolt aic (PV) arrays can be energized wit h minimal ambient light available.
Therefore to ensure a safe disconnect from the syst em, be sure t o inst all a PV disconnect,
breaker, or accessible fuse box (depending on local code requirement s).

PV Arrays must be wired with correct polarity (positive-to-positive, negative-to-
negative). Connecting the cables incorrectly can damage or dest roy the equipment .
