4. Focus, Brightness (Exposure) and Colour tone Settings
Compensating the Exposure
Applicable modes:
Use this function when you cannot achieve appropriate exposure due to the difference in
brightness between the subject and the background.
Turn the exposure compensation dial to select
the compensation value.
With the exposure compensation dial, you can set a value in
the j3 EV to i3 EV range.

B Exposure compensation value
Compensating the exposure over a wide range
1 Set the menu to assign [Exposure Comp.] to a function button. (P50)
2 Press the function button in the recording screen.
3 Rotate the control dial to compensate the exposure.
C Exposure Bracket
D Exposure Compensation
When exposure is set with a function button, you can set
a value in the j5EV to i5 EV range.
You can set the Exposure Bracket by pressing 3/4.

4 Press [MENU/SET] to set.
You can also press the shutter button halfway to set.
Underexposed Properly exposed Overexposed
Compensate the exposure
towards positive.
Compensate the exposure
towards negative.
