Conditioning Batteries
You must condition the battery when the “battery requires maintenance” symbol shows on the screen.
If conditioning is not performed immediately, the monitor will still function according to
specifications. However, the displayed time to empty and time to full will show increasing inaccuracy.
Do not interrupt the charge or discharge cycle during conditioning.
CAUTION
Do not use a monitor currently being used in order to condition batteries. The monitor switches off
automatically when there is no battery power left.
To condition the battery,
1 Charge the battery until it is completely full. Switch the monitor off to decrease the charging time.
When the battery LED turns green i.e. the battery is >90% charged.
2 Switch on the monitor and open the Battery Status window.
3 Check that the Batteries fully charged message is displayed.
4 Disconnect the monitor from AC power, and let the monitor run until the battery is empty and the
monitor switches itself off.
5 Reconnect the monitor to AC power and charge the battery until it is full for use or charge to 50%
for storage.
After Installation, Testing, or Repair
Before handing the fetal monitor over to the end-user, make sure it is configured appropriately and
that it is in Monitoring Mode. Ensure that the user receives the current revision of the monitor
documentation.
