Record from external devices
Recording from an external
device (Satellite Receiver/
Camcorder/ VCR/ DVD
Player)
You can record content from an analogue
camcorder or an external device (e.g.
Satellite Receiver, DVD player, VCR, etc).
RECORD
STOP

Turn on the TV to the correct viewing
channel for the recorder.
To record from the device
connected to CAM socket
Connect the camcorder or external
device to the CAM sockets on the front
panel.
Press CAM on the remote control to
switch to CAM mode.
To record from the device
connected to EXT2 socket
Connect the external device to the
EXT2 TO VCR/SAT socket on the
back panel.
Press TUNER on the remote control..
Press CH
+/- repeatedly to select
{ EXT2 }.
B
Turn on the external device and locate
the content where you want the
recording to begin. If necessary, pause
playback on the external device.
C
Press RECORD z to start recording.
D
Start playback on the external device.
To pause the recording, press PLAY/
PAUSE u. To continue recording,
press u again.
E
To stop the recording, press STOP x.
A new HDD title will be saved.
F
To exit, press TUNER.
Automatic recording from a
Satellite Receiver
This function is applicable only if the
Satellite Receiver is connected to the
EXT2 TO VCR/SAT socket on the
recorder. In addition, the Satellite
Receiver must have a timer function.
Before your start...
Ensure that the option { SAT Record }
has been set to { EXT2 }. See the chapter
“Before Recording – { Recording }
settings”.
Ensure that the Satellite Receiver is
connected to the recorder. See the
chapter “Step 2: Optional Connections”.

Use the Satellite Receiver’s timer
programming function to program the
recording. (Refer to the Satellite Receiver
user manual).
B
Turn off the Satellite Receiver to standby
mode.
