Step 35: Select the location for the controller
The control unit can be located in either of two positions:
A. The system is equipped with a 10-foot MIDI cable. The control unit can be
placed at any point within that distance. If a location beyond 10 feet is
desired, cords of various lengths up to 120 feet are available. (NOTE: Not
applicable to iQ control units. See Appendix A: Mounting and Installing
iQ Systems.)
NOTE: If the control unit is located over 50 feet from the piano, a 3 amp wall
transformer must be used. These are available from PianoDisc.
B. The control unit can be mounted under the front end of the keyboard, as far
right (or left) as possible, but should not be placed where it will restrict the
player’s legroom.
Each control unit has a unique set of instructions for installation and setup.
The control units are: 228CFX, iQ, and PianoCD. The rest of this section
details procedures for installing each control unit type.
