NOTE In case the X-ray unit is equipped with optional AEC (Automatic Exposure Control), the
AEC calibration must be performed after the panoramic X-ray beam adjustment. See
instructions given in section 6 “AUTOMATIC EXPOSURE CONTROL (AEC) CALIBRA-
TION” on page D-34.
2.1 Checking the panoramic beam position
NOTE These instructions are valid for both the Planmeca Panoramic XC X-ray unit and Plan-
meca Panoramic XC Pan/Ceph X-ray unit.
Before the X-ray unit is used the position of the radiation beam must be checked. Remove the
inner cover from tube head assembly. Four screws hold the tube head cover in position, these
are located at the rear of the tube head assembly. The primary collimator mechanism is
located under the tube head cover.
