A.6 PSV-A-515 External Digital Video Camera
A.6.1 Introduction
The PSV-A-515 video camera is a digital high-resolution video camera that
can be used instead of the video camera installed in the scanning head. The
external video camera allows a higher accuracy in the positioning of the laser
beams for VideoTriangulation. The video camera is monochrome, to get the
best possible resolution for this application.
By default, the video camera is provided with a prime lens (standard lens). As
an option, there is a 10x zoom lens available that is set up manually. For short
stand-off distances (180-300mm) the zoom lens contains a close-up lens that
has to be removed for larger stand-off distances.
The zoom lens is delivered with the PSV-A-455 helium-neon block filter. If the
intensity of the laser light is still too high, it can be mounted additionally. The
block filter reduces the intensity of the laser light scattered back to the video
camera by 98%.
To position and align the external video camera you can optionally use the
VIB-A-T05 tripod with geared head.
CAUTION!
Damage to the optical components by unsuitable cleaning agents and supplies!
Video camera and lenses are provided separately. When mounting, do not touch both the
optical surfaces (lenses) and the camera chip ! Only use a soft, dry cloth, an optics brush and
bellows to remove dirt. Scratched optical components getting unusable!

Connection for the IEEE-1394 cable (FireWire®) to the PC to transmit the video
signal, for mains supply and to control of the video camera.
