Fan Assembly, Cabinet Exhaust (Figure 5–11 )
Removal
1. Prepare the printer for maintenance (page 5–3).
2. Open the floor cabinet doors.
3. Remove the paper fence through the front door.
a. Cut the tie wrap and lift the top left side of the fence.
b. Lift the fence out of the hole at the bottom center.
c. Tilt and remove the paper fence from the hole at the top right.
4. Remove six screws (1) and move the service panel (2) aside.
5. Remove two screws (3) securing the cabinet exhaust fan assembly (4).
6. Disconnect the fan cable connector (5).
7. Remove the cabinet exhaust fan assembly (4) and fan guard (6).
Installation
CAUTION
Make sure to install the fan so the label is down, facing the cabinet floor.
Air flow is down.
1. Connect the fan cable connector (5).
2. Position the cabinet exhaust fan assembly (4) and fan guard (6) on the
cabinet floor.
3. Install two screws (3) securing the cabinet exhaust fan assembly (4).
4. Move the service panel (2) back into position and install the six screws
(1).
5. Install the paper fence through the front door.
a. Tilt and install the paper fence in the top right hole in the service
panel.
b. Install the fence in the bottom center hole in the cabinet floor.
c. Set the top left side of the fence in the support bracket and tie
wrap it in place.
6. Return the printer to normal operation (page 5–86).
