IGP200/210 Option
The Intelligent Graphics Processor (IGP) is a printed circuit board assembly
that processes and plots all graphics, freeing the host computer for other
tasks. Using a simple programming language, the user can create forms, bar
codes, logos, expanded characters, and other graphics. The IGP enables the
printer to print sideways, upside down, and make forms combining graphics,
alphanumeric data, and bar codes, all in a single pass.
The IGP option comes with a set of documents explaining installation,
configuration, operation, and programming. This section covers installation
of the IGP but not its operation.
IMPORTANT
To reduce radio frequency interference (RFI), some ribbon cables are
wound around ferrite cores. You must duplicate these windings when
reassembling the printer. (Refer to Appendix G.)
NOTE: To remove the IGP, reverse the steps of this procedure.
1. Prepare the printer for IGP installation:
a. Remove the paper guide assembly (page 542).
b. Remove the common controller board (page 546).
c. Remove the mechanism driver board (page 548).
d. Remove the power supply board (page 550).
2. Install the CT/IGP2X0 power board on the bottom of the card cage:
(See Figure 61.)
a. Align the slots in the power board with the studs on the bottom
of the card cage. Slide the board into position on the studs so that
the cable from the board points toward the front of the printer.
b. Install the screw securing the power board to the bottom of the
card cage.
3. Tiewrap the cable from the CT/IGP2X0 power board snugly into
position:
