5–66 Replacement Procedures
Ribbon Guide Assembly (L/R) (Figure 5–28 )
Removal
NOTE: Although the right ribbon guide is shown in Figure 5–28 , the
removal procedure is the same for the left ribbon guide.
1. Prepare the printer for maintenance (page 5–3).
2. Open the printer cover.
3. Remove the printer ribbon.
4. Cut the tie–wrap and remove it from the tie wrap hole (1) to free the
ribbon guide cable.
5. Disconnect the ribbon guide connector (2).
6. Remove the two screws (3) and washers (4).
7. Slide the ribbon guide assembly (5) out of the side plate (6).
Installation
NOTE: Although the right ribbon guide is shown in Figure 5–28 , the
installation procedure is the same for the left ribbon guide.
1. Slide the ribbon guide assembly (5) into the side plate (6).
2. Install two screws (3) and washers (4).
3. Connect the ribbon guide connector (2).
4. Tie–wrap the cable to the tie wrap hole (1).
5. Align the ribbon guides (page 4–18).
6. Return the printer to normal operation (page 5–86).
