F1Ferrite Noise Suppression Cores
F Ferrite Noise Suppression Cores
Ferrite cores reduce radio frequency interference (RFI) with electronic
equipment located near the printer.
Two kinds of ferrite cores are used in the printer:
1. Cylindrical coresCables pass through the core or are wound around it.
2. Block coresThe core is housed in a hinged plastic case. Cables are laid
in a groove in the core, and the plastic case is closed, securing the core to the
cable.
Figure F1 shows the location of the ferrite cores in the P4280 printer.
IMPORTANT
When removing cables that pass through or around ferrite cores, note
the number of times the cable is wound around the core. You must
duplicate these windings when you replace the cable. Use Figure F1 as
your guide.
