13.3 Current and Validaon Example 3
The example shown below refers to the specicaon’s table needed to help ensure the correct
installaon of the Protégé® SE Integrated System Controller. Specicaons have to be validated to
ensure that individual maximum currents and total combined current are not exceeded.
External Devices Connected to Panel
8x EDGE PIR Moon Detectors (Z1 to Z8)
2x External Relay Controlled by P3 and P4 @ 50mA each
1x 15W Siren (500mA @ 13.8VDC)
Current Consumpon
Total Combined Current Available 1.8A (1800mA)
Operang Current 280mA (Typical)
Baery Charging 700mA (High Current Charging)
DC Output (Auxiliary) 8x EDGE PIR Moon Detectors @ 15mA each (Total 120mA)
DC Output (Auxiliary) 2x External Relays @ 50mA each (Total 100mA)
Siren on Bell 1 Output 500mA
Total Consumpon 1.7A (1700mA)
Validaon
Is the total DC Output (Auxiliary) current less or equal to 700mA? Yes, it is 220mA
P
Is Bell 1 current less or equal to 700mA? Yes, it is 500mA
P
Is the total consumpon less or equal to 1.8A (1800mA)? Yes, it is 1.7A (1700mA)
