From firmware version 2.00.00XX, 2.00.00XX HW2, 2.10.00XX respectively 2.10.00XX HW2 the MPR1 is
designed to measure one pressure channel telemetrically. Prerequisite for this is the use of the necessary
accessories (reader TDT1 readP plus telemetry catheter). The telemetric pressure channel is classified
as application part, type CF, defibrillation protected.
The number of MPR1 pressure measurement channels is not increased by the telemetry channel. If the
MPR1 recognizes a telemetry catheter connected to the system, then this can only be mapped instead of
a catheter connected to the P1 socket and not as well as it (see 4.4.5 Telemetric pressure measurement
).
The telemetry catheter is automatically allocated the measurement location label ICPT. The measurement
location allocation of the pressure channel sets its scaling, alarm source and alarm limits.
Patient risk is inherent in invasive procedures. Use aseptic techniques and observe the instructions of
the catheter manufacturer.
See the instruction manuals for instructions about the necessary accessories.
Telemetry catheters are intended for single use only.
ICPT specification: see 11 Technical parameters (Specification)
3.3.2 Preparation for telemetric measurement of the ICPT
Prepare the telemetry catheter according to the specifications in its instruction manual
Implant the telemetry catheter
Connect the reader TDT1 readP to the MPR1 by plugging the plug with the black marking into the
black socket “Ext.” of the MPR1.
In contrast to cabled pressure measurement, when using telemetry catheters no zeroing is required
before their implantation, nor is any possible.
Observe the accessory instruction manuals, such as for the reader TDT1 readP and telemetry catheter.
If there are any limitations here, e.g. for the permissible measurement range or for defibrillator protection,
then these must be observed without fail.
Ensure that the power supply needs of the telemetry catheter are met by the reader. If the telemetry
catheter is located outside the transmission range of the reader, then it is not possible either to make
measurements or save them.
