5. Allow the update process to complete before proceeding. Update progress will be displayed on the receiver
screen.
6. When the update is complete, the receiver will restart automatically.
Note: The receiver will continue to prompt the operator to update the front panel as long as the .hex
update file is found on the connected USB flash drive. Delete the update file from the drive or
disconnect the USB flash drive from the receiver to start the unit normally.
NovAtel Engine Update
Important: The NovAtel engine update may take up to 40 minutes to complete. Do not remove power from the
receiver or disconnect the USB flash drive during the update process.
Note: The update procedure will only begin if the update version found on the USB flash drive does not
match the version on the receiver.
1. Shutdown the Phoenix 300 receiver.
2. Insert the USB flash drive with the update file into the USB port on the back of the receiver.
Note: The latest engine update should be included with the front panel update provided from the Raven
web site.
3. Turn the receiver power on. The NovAtel engine update will begin automatically during the start up process.
4. Allow the update process to complete before proceeding. Update progress will be displayed on the receiver
screen.
5. When the update is complete, the receiver will restart automatically.
6. Refer to the Receiver Display Menu section on page 13 to verify that the update has been successfully
applied.
